Print straight from your iPad. Connect a DNP, Citizen, or HiTi photo printer with a single USB-C cable and start printing. No AirPrint, no print server, no drivers to install. (Requires an iPad with an M-series chip, M1 or later, running iPadOS 16 or later.)
Printing
- Print directly to a supported dye-sub printer over USB. Plug in the cable, pick USB Direct Printing in Print Setup, and your prints come out. Nothing to install.
- Supports DNP and Citizen printers: DS-RX1, DS40, DS80, DS620, DS820A, DS820DX, and QW410.
- Supports the HiTi P525L, with full color management so skin tones stay warm and true.
- Cut 4×6 prints into two 2×6 strips. Turn on "Cut into 2×6 strips" and classic photo strips come off the printer ready to hand out. The option appears only on printers and media that can actually do it.
- See how much media is left. Your remaining print count shows right in Print Setup, so a ribbon never runs out mid-event by surprise.
- Printer messages now say what is actually wrong, in plain language. "The printer cover is open" instead of a mystery error.
- Prints recover from brief connection hiccups on their own instead of failing.
Print Setup
- The Print Setup screen is clearer, with better spacing and print method options that are easy to tap on every device.
- Printer status is easier to read at a glance, so you know your printer is ready before guests line up.
- Setup guidance walks you through connecting a printer directly the first time.
